A rock sifter with rocks on top and sand falling through

Rock Sifter

Every day, your list is too long. Three of those things actually matter. Sift them out.

Begin Sifting

It shouldn't have to be this hard.

Leaders have a hard time staying focused. You know you need to pick your rocks, but every one of them looks important. You have tried a dozen ways to sort them, list them, cut them down. None of it sticks.

That is why we built the Rock Sifter, to help you quarry your rocks. I built it because I could never decide what my three actually were either. After trying every way to sort them, I sat down and made this. Dump your list into the sifter. The rocks stay on top. The pebbles and sand fall through. What is left is what has to move today.

Step 1 of 5

Dump the list

Everything you're carrying right now. Every project, every open loop, every thing pulling at you. Do not filter. Just get it out. Ten minimum.

Have a list already? Paste multiple at once
Your list will show up here.

    Keep 10

Not what you should keep. What actually matters right now. Click to keep.

    Cut to 5

Five is a lot smaller than ten. This is where it gets uncomfortable. Trust your gut.

    Pick your 3 rocks

Three. In order. When two of them fight for your calendar tomorrow, which one wins? Click a card to lock it in as your next rock. Click a numbered rock to send it back.

Click a card to assign it as Rock 1.

    Your 3 rocks

Rocks first. Pebbles next. Sand last.

    Rocks
The three that have to move
These get the calendar. You don't finish your day until they're done.
      Pebbles
      Important, but not the point
Real work. They go in around your rocks, not ahead of them.
        Sand
        Not today. Not gone.
Push it down. Some earns a promotion tomorrow. Most should die.

The PDF is the "My Daily Rocks" tool from the TeachPassion™ Toolbox, filled in with your list.

Naming your rocks is the easy part.

The hard part is guarding them from the pebbles and sand that show up all day. If you want a partner in that work, let's talk.
